IN-SCHOOL PRESENTATIONS
INSPIRE, a Milwaukee-based dance collective, is partnering with Danceworks, Inc. to offer school presentations to Milwaukee area schools for Black History Month.
We’ve designed two presentation options to foster culturally positive conversation through the lens of dance.
Option 1 | Performance
In Option 1, INSPIRE focuses on performance and the behind-the-scenes performance experience. Participating students will enjoy a sneak peek of the creative process through a short documentary, a 12-15 minute performance, and a 15-20 minute talk back. This option requires minor technical support and space specifications for maximum impact. For grant purposes, INSPIRE will document the number of students participating and the school's zip code.
Option 2 | Dance History in 2025
In Option 2, INSPIRE focuses on the history of dance on black and brown bodies. Participating students will enjoy a sneak peek of the creative process through a short documentary, a 15-20 min Interactive Dance History lesson and a 20-25 min Dance Lesson. This option requires minor technical support and space specifications for maximum impact. For grant purposes, INSPIRE will document the number of students participating and the school's zip code.
INSPIRE 2025 is presented in partnership with Danceworks and funded by the United Performing Arts Fund's Resonate Grant. Danceworks is supported by the thousands of individuals and companies who give generously to the United Performing Arts Fund (UPAF), the community’s primary source for performing arts funding.
